There are 2 main aspects of having an implant placed – the placement of the implant (or “root”) part itself, and then the placement of the crown (or “chewing”) part.

At this time, a temporary tooth is provided that allows you to eat and function like normal almost immediately. The implant will often need a few months to integrate with the jawbone before the next step is taken.

The final step is the placement of the permanent ceramic tooth.

You should expect the new tooth to fit and function just like a natural tooth. We can show you some additional hygiene steps that can be taken to ensure the implant and surrounding tissues remain healthy.

Implants can also improve the retention and function of lower dentures, which are notoriously difficult to remain stable.
