Free Pregnancy Visit

Our aim is to have happy kids and less stressed, educated parents.

Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease of childhood and it is preventable.

We are offering a free education visit to pregnant women to provide information about oral health and preventive strategies to give families the tools they need to raise a decay-free child. (Of course Dads are more than welcome to come too!)

Did you know that:

  • Pregnant women who have gum disease are more likely to have preterm births, low birth weight babies and pre-eclampsia?

  • If the mother or primary caregiver of a new born has active tooth decay, the bacteria that causes this decay can be transmitted to baby. Reducing the mouth bacteria in a pregnant mother through good oral health can result in less decay in their children.

  • Pregnancy is also a time when mum’s own oral health can sometimes go downhill, due to things like morning sickness (frequent vomiting can cause acid damage), and hormonal changes (which can affect your gums). We can help you keep things in check during this period.

There is a lot to learn that will benefit you and your baby. We discuss baby teething, cleaning and brushing, drinking and eating habits, thumb and dummy sucking, lip/tongue ties, and what to do in the case of an emergency.  Book a free appointment today to help give your new baby the best start possible.
